Help Haiti Prosper
At Practical Compassion, our faith and the belief that every one of us can impact the world for good is what drives our mission of caring for and creating opportunities for the least of these.
While many nonprofits work in Haiti, few can say that every dollar given goes directly toward life-changing work. With Practical Compassion, however, 100 percent of every gift is used to directly empower the people of Haiti and invest their lives—so they can give back to their communities. Our prayer is that as we live out our faith through love and practical compassion, we change both destinies and eternities for the people of Haiti.
Our vision for school scholarships is that, along with the hope it brings, the education provides opportunities for students to become leaders in medicine, infrastructure, politics, and business. We are already seeing this come to fruition among our program graduates.
We bring American and Haitian medical professionals together to accomplish the immediate goal of helping sick people and the long-term goal of fostering independence among the Haitian medical community.
Choosing to partner with our orphanage support program is an investment in humanity and the future of God’s most vulnerable children. This program saves lives and been the difference between starvation and life for children in need.
Having a consistent income provides stability in the day-to-day, and a safety net in times of difficulty. This is why microenterprise support opportunities in Haiti are near and dear to our heart, and part of our core mission.
So why is education so important compared to the need for food, clothing and shelter? It's not that the other concerns are not important because they very much are, but if you are going to make long-term change in any society it is through an educated people. A society that can begin making educated choices will create change from within. Any endeavor needs to look at a long-term solution instead of just a quick fix.
